SARAI Gallery is pleased to announce its return to Untitled Art Miami Beach for the third consecutive year. Curated by Payam Khalili, the show will feature paintings, sculptures, and works on paper by Iranian artists Narges Fadakar (1983), Fataneh Foroughi (1986), Parham Peyvandi (1989), Sam Nikmaram (1991), and Ayda Roozbayani (1995). Untitled Art Miami Beach 2024 will take place December 4 through December 8, with a VIP and Press Preview on December 3 in Miami, US.
In addition, Sadegh Khalife, who is currently represented by SARAI Gallery, and Rojan Bagheri, both participants in the KHOR Art Initiative established by the SARAI Gallery, will be exhibiting their work at this year's Untitled Art Fair in collaboration with Parisa Projects. Parisa Projects, based in San Diego with deep connections to Tehran, is a dedicated supporter of the initiative and SARAI Gallery, providing a platform for Middle Eastern artists to thrive within the US art scene.
These exceptional visual artists exemplify the vitality of Iran's progressive art scene, where both men and women have flourished as creative forces for generations. Their works collectively present a dynamic and diverse range of artistic expression, each offering a unique perspective on personal and societal narratives.
Narges Fadakar reimagines Iranian miniatures, centering on women and architectural spaces. By stripping away human figures and desaturating colors, she transforms ornate structures into abandoned concrete forms, creating haunting landscapes that echo the enduring presence of women's stories once living in them through time.
Fataneh Foroughi's paintings transform flowers from passive subjects into dynamic entities imbued with profound emotion. Through intimate observation, she merges her own soul with the flower's spirit, creating captivating works that evoke a personal connection with these floral subjects.
Parham Peyvandi's urban landscapes are profoundly personal interpretations of the city. Drawing on his expertise in urban planning, he adeptly employs light, shadow, and geometric forms to encapsulate the city's essence and his emotional affinity to it.
Sam Nikmaram's provocative sculptures fuse Iranian mythology with social commentary. Utilizing recycled materials, he creates fantastical beings that challenge societal norms and advocate for environmental consciousness.
Ayda Roozbayani's works depict isolated figures navigating desolate industrial landscapes or shallow waters, often shrouded in dim light. These haunting scenes mirror our contemporary alienation from nature, both external and internal, driven by the ambitious pursuit of humans to dominate the world with machinery.
