Homayoon Hayati

Homayoun Hayati (b. 1985, Iran) holds a BA and MA in painting. His experience as a surveyor in the southern villages of Iran not only heavily affected his work as a painter but was also an influence in his attempts at writing poems. In the artist's latest series, the relationship between nature and humans has led to the creation of landscapes using collages that are neither abstract nor figurative. Without any preparatory sketches, Hayati arranges different colorful pieces of fabric with plant motifs together to create his landscape; a landscape made of natural and manmade forms intertwined in such a way that separating them would be neither possible nor desirable.

Homayoun Hayati was shortlisted both at Khor Art Initiative 2020 and 2021.
