Lila Nazemian is an independent curator and the Special Projects Curator at ArteEast in New York. Nazemian received a B.A. in History from Scripps College, California; and an M.A. in Near Eastern Studies from N.Y.U., New York. She was a QAYYEM 2019 Curatorial Fellow. Her recent curatorial projects include: "A Few in Many Places: New York" a thematic group exhibition organized by Protocinema that takes place simultaneously at multiple venues, across five regions and opening May 2021 on Governors Island, NY; "I open my eyes and see myself under a tree laden with fruit that I cannot name" organized at New York's Center for Book Arts in January 2020; and "Spheres of Influence" at Tehran's Mohsen Gallery in 2016. Previously, Lila was the Curatorial and Special Project Associate at Leila Heller Gallery, New York, where she organized over 15 shows by artists including Hadieh Shafie, Reza Aramesh, and Shiva Ahmadi.
