Born in Santiago, Chile, Christian Viveros-Fauné (1965) is a New York-based contemporary art critic and curator. A former art dealer and art fair director, he was the founder of Roebling Hall, a gallery in Brooklyn, and the managing director of Volta, NYC, and NEXT, Chicago art fairs. Viveros-Fauné has lectured at Yale School of Art, Pratt Institute, and Parsons School of Design. His works as an author have been published in Art in America, Art in Australia, ArtNexus, Art Papers, Art Review, Atlántica (Spain), Village Voice and Frieze among others and his recent book, Social Forms: A Short History of Political Art, by David Zwirner Books in 2018. He was the recipient of the 2010 Creative Capital/Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant and was a member of the committee to select Chile's representative at the 55th Venice Biennale in 1012.
