The world of art suffered multiple losses during this past week. American painter, visual artist, and photographer Chuck Close died yesterday at the age of 81. The artist was celebrated worldwide for his massive-scale, pixelated portraiture, particularly his self-portraits. Fellow American multimedia artist, creator of the long-running single series called "The Larry Project" and a 'rising star' according to various art press, Kaari Upson died on Wednesday. She was 49. Meanwhile, only a day before Kaari's passing, Iran mourned the death of Iranian film producer and writer of children's books, Fereshteh Taerpour. She succumbed to Covid-19 complications at the age of 69.
